With a  Slingshot equipped and  Any Stone in your Inventory, pilgrims can use  Shoot Combat Move. Although the Slingshot doesn't do much Blood damage it can be a useful tool for hunting, as it allows you to initiate Combat from a distance, giving you time ready to another Attack before the Creature reaches to you. To Shoot, click the Shoot Attack and then click the cursor in the direction you wish to Shoot, however, if the target has moved, you will miss, so aim well. Shots do not travel over solid objects. Slingshot Blood Damage seems to be around 0.5*sqrt(YB/10).
