These seeds allow you to grow cereals which are used to produce various tiers of Flour.

A Tilled Field prepared with humus requires 50 seeds of cereal in order to plant the field.

Boston sells 50 seeds of Cereal for 125 Silver Pieces.

You can also obtain seeds of Cereal after harvesting the cereals by using the Thresh Cereals crafting option. This consumes the cereal however so you cannot use that one to produce Flour.
