About

Pilgrims may play musical instruments at the cost of inspiration.
To play an instrument, a player must unlock the Musician skill, which will give the player access to the different notes:


Music is a fun little mechanic for altering Biomes in Salem with the skill Aeolian.
Nature will adapt and change based on the type of music being played nearby.
Each instrument will change the area around you to a different specific Biome.

Not all instruments will do this - only those found in the Mystery Music Box which includes:

Animal Horn icon.png Animal Horn -- Changes area around you to Coniferous Biome.
Banjo icon.png Banjo -- Changes area around you to Greenwood Biome.
Fife icon.png Fife -- Changes area around you to Grassland Biome.
Glockenspiel icon.png Glockenspiel -- Changes area around you to Grassland Biome.
Harp icon.png Harp -- Changes area around you to Autumnal Biome.
Skin Flute icon.png Skin Flute -- Changes area around you to Woodland Biome.
Snare Drum icon.png Snare Drum -- Changes area around you to Badlands Biome
Viola icon.png Viola -- Changes area around you to Shrub Biome.
Wardrum icon.png Wardrum -- Changes area around you to Crag Biome.

Currently the Trumpet icon.png Trumpet. Christmas Bell icon.png Christmas Bell, and the Cowbell icon.png Cowbell is the only instruments that will not alter biomes. Without Aeolian the instrument can still be played but the biomes around will not change.

Insanity

Playing any instrument will calm your Insanity.

Playing any of the Mystery Music Box instruments with the Aeolian skill will also calm the Insanity in the surrounding players.
