"Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without."
- Confucius, 551-479 B.C.
With practice, you have evolved your skills beyond the cabochon and now possess the precision and experience to create jewels destined to lead the fashion of the New World! These advanced recipes are still much more difficult to cut, but could be worth the affluence bonus with higher carat gems.
Gemstones
Any Raw Gem can be Cut into a Gemstone for Slotting into clothes on a Gemcutter's Wheel with the success determined by the Hardness of the Raw Gem. There are four different Cut types and each adds a bit of extra Hardness to the Raw Gem. The more advanced the Cut, the more Hardness is added. An unsuccessful Cut will replace your Raw Gem with 2x Gem Shards and 1x Fractured Gemstone.
