If you build the flag pole it is just an empty pole.
You may craft 10 different flags for it. But there are up to 30 different flags in game (at Nov. 2016).
Most of the fun and silly flags will be used for gifts, events, prizes, and more.

If you have a flag, you raise it by rightclicking the flag to the Pole.
