I'll keep on coding with string types to bypass the lack of usability of type Record.

subpage on all namespaces

Hi, could you enable sub-page support on all namespaces?
This will provide an automatic navigation on pages that make use of sub pages.
To see an example of the navigation i mean look at the top of my sandbox page.
It looks like its going to be, is, used by some pages... Thanks a lot.

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that i might be leaving soon™, as it seems Salem is exiting the test phase probably monday, see irc-log
As soon as a game goes commercial in anyway, it means the end of testing phase for me, and that means i will move on to other things as announced on my userpage.
I hope you find a suitable successor for my position, for the benefit of this community.
I have been tutoring Jord for a while now, on how certain things are setup and done with some background on why, so maybe you can consider him to be part of your team.
This recommendation is purely based on my efforts put in tutoring him as stated above, i can not vouch for his personal integrity or overall knowledge in anyway as i have no clue regarding that.
I will most likely stick around until Salem makes the actual switch to commercial implementations...
I hope i have been helpful to this community with the things i've done, and hope the next one will continue in my spirit and finish my to-do's ;)
So take care for when they do go commercial :)

Config changes

This section is for requests concerning config changes:

  • Editing pages with large data
    I don't know if you have changed something recently on your server but im getting an error message when im trying to edit some pages that have much data in them.
    See this page
    This currently has disabled me to edit {{Infobox}}, because when i try to edit, it will cut-off the content thus vandalizing the complete code.
    Hope you look into this issue soon and fix it.

I just noticed you changed the wiki's copyrights (diff), and then decommissioned me as your sysop, which prevents me to correct your mistake.
I hereby officially demand you to add to it that my work was, still is, and will stay released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License.
If you don't want to comply with that request, you should immediately and permanently remove all my contributions to the wiki, while safeguarding that others won't re-create copies of my work, i have backups of the wiki as proof.
This is my first and last request on this matter to you.
I hope i was helpful to the wiki while being part of your team.

Could you make clear to your staff that using code logic, that is obviously (and provable) originating from my work, without mentioning in its source that it is based on my work, even if they make every line a separate template, is also considered as Plagiarism?
This statement is wrong. You need work that is complex enough to be unique in order for it to be plagerizable. A sorted table was not invented by you, nor is it copyrighted by you. Especially if you're using someone else's coding language (i.e. MediaWiki and Semantic MediaWiki) to create it. "code logic" is not copyrightable in the broadest sense of the word. Same as "math logic" (aka arithmetic) is not copyrightable. You can't just say you own 2+2=4 and that everyone else needs to find another way to state it. milonti
As mentioned above i have backups as proof even when my work would become lost on this wiki.
I don't mind if people get inspired or even learn from my work, in fact i feel honored, but please let them make clear that they did when they do, there is no shame in mentioning your source of inspiration.
I don't need to link to what i have discovered so far because your staff knows which codes they created while being inspired by my work.
I currently also have no intention or need to force them to do so, as they did under your personal liability, because of your change in site-license.
Thank you for changing the site license back to what it was.

Changes

Is it okay if I start replacing TriMoons crazy code? I want to separate the infoboxes out a bit, ie creatures get their own one tailored to creatures, skills box for skills etc. I am coding things on my local wiki and when have an infobox type perfected I will move it over. If that's okay. I ask because I don't want to remove TriMoons infboxes if people are happy with them. Bluestone 16:46, 10 August 2012 (CDT)

I have replaced the creature box and would love feedback on it. Specifically on whether people mind that I did not include the skill/item images or the loot item amounts. I can change it so it adds the images fairly easily if it is requested but to add the item amounts would require a bit more work (which I can do if requested).

it all looks fine so far, except maybe the image could be in the same column or something; just keep in mind that some of the infoboxes benefit from being flexible. mostly item infoboxes though, because an item may be a food as well as an inspirational or something. about the loot, i don't know what the best way to handle it since the loot changes depending on what skills you have, plus the addition of random drops like tiny pocketwatch. so, maybe just some boilerplate text about how the amounts of things differ based on skills. maybe the possible rare drops could be separate from the main loot.   • Hmm, I put the image off to the left (on the creature template) so that the more useful information wasn't pushed down the page. I could flip it to the other side so the infobox was the first content? Or if it is really wanted I can incorporate it into the top of the infobox. Any other position would be ridunkulous haha.

  • I agree regarding food/inspirationals - I haven't done any boxes for the food/inspirationals yet because of that very reason, I was thinking just an items infobox would work best there instead of one for food and one for inspirationals.
Me and blue talked about making a modular design. If something is both a food and an inspirational, you can add 2 templates instead of trying to add one big template milonti 12:40, 13 August 2012 (CDT)
  • I will play around with the template and find a tidy way to display/separate rare items. And indicate item amounts vary depending on skills known. No worries :D

Required By not updating

I've noticed some items that are required are not showing what they are required by. For example Brick has no items listed that require bricks to build. Ore Smelter does list bricks though. SarnXero 20:22, 25 September 2012 (CDT)


Fixxed! The Crafted template was only querying Objects and not structures. I added a second column under Required By to list Objects and Structures the Crafted Item is used for. Items like Cotton will show none under structures, items like Brick will show none under objects, and items like Bar of Iron will show both lists. SarnXero 17:24, 26 September 2012 (CDT)

Edit on IsInGameMenu

Please can you look at my request on bottom of Property_talk:IsinGameMenu? The menus are outdated and shows as an issue when adding the Template:Gamemenu to items which I think is useful. See menu listing at bottom of Pilgrim's_Hovel for example. I think there may be more to add, but I've not got a full list.
