A Deer Tick is obtained by chance when Skinning a Deer icon.png Deer.

Infecting Clothing

Right-clicking a Deer Tick icon.png Deer Tick onto Any Clothing icon.png Any Clothing except for Hats and Masks, and selecting "Plant Tick" with the Plague Handling Skill learned will hide that Deer Tick in that item of Clothing. Any pilgrim who wears an item of Clothing infected with a Deer Tick will become Disease icon.png Diseased.

Infecting Criminals

With the Plague Handling Skill learned, selecting a Deer Tick icon.png Deer Tick and right-clicking it on any of the Stocks which a criminal is locked up in, will give you the option to "Infect." Infecting a criminal will cause them to become Disease icon.png Diseased. Neither a Plague Doctor's Masque icon.png Plague Doctor's Masque nor Berry Juice icon.png Berry Juice will prevent Disease from a Deer Tick. NOTE: While it is possible to add multiple Deer Ticks to the same Criminal only the first Deer Tick will add Disease or award Justice Points.
