A Waxing Toadstool is a Poisonous Mushroom which can be found in the wild or, with the Fungiculture skill learned, grown by planting another  Waxing Toadstool in a  Gardening Pot. When planting a Waxing Toadstool there is a chance for it to grow into a  Spooky Redcap instead. When picking a Waxing Toadstool from the wild, if your  Herbs & Sprouts Proficiency is high enough, you may detect that the Waxing Mushroom you just picked is actually the significantly more poisonous  Waning Toadstool. 'Shroom Poisoning
If a Poisonous Mushroom is consumed, or Food made with a Poisonous Mushroom, you will be stricken with  'Shroom Poisoning causing your max Humours to be temporarily reduced. The more Poisonous Mushrooms are eaten the longer the debuff will last and the more your Humours will be reduced. 'Shroom Poisoning will slowly go away on its own but the recovery rate can be greatly sped up by Imbibing  Berrymash Laxative. While you are under the laxative effect you will slowly lose a small amount of Black Bile as well as cause a period of Flatulence. Although Poisonous Mushrooms even when boiled, will often still sometimes give 'Shroom Poisoning, you can reduce the chance and severity of 'Shroom Poisoning, by boiling them in a  Cauldron,  Clay Pot,  Copper Pot before consuming or using in recipes.
When boiled a Waxing Toadstool will become a  Boiled Waxing Toadstool. A  Boiled Waning Toadstool, Boiled Waxing Toadstool, Waning Toadstool, and a Waxing Toadstool all count as a Waxing Toadstool when planting and in Food recipes.
